Move a thon

#1 came home with a flyer to enter a t- shirt contest for their move a thon. The whole school would be wearing the their design at their move a thon day. I am probably the meanest mom ever since I told her the chance of her winning was not great but a good opportunity to do a drawing project and be happy for who won.

It was very exciting when I received a phone call that she had won and would be announced at the assembly in 2 days.. We kept it a SECRET and she had no idea we were in the back of the cafeteria until her name was announced. She was thrilled and absolutely shocked.

This was 1 week after #3 was born and we enjoyed having her at school to support her sister. We helped her think of a design and let her trace the bubble letters for her school name but the she did it all on her own and we were so proud of her for be willing to give it a shot and try to win for her school.

I don't think she realized that her design would be all over the school and many kids would be wearing her t-shirt and her name on shirt until she started seeing them all worn by K-5th graders during the month at school.

We were very supportive of this fundraiser since it helped promote exercise and being healthy. I am normally not a big supporter of fundraisers and I bribe #1 to pay her NOT to do them. She only wants to do them for a small prize so I would rather have do some chores at home and have her buy a prize at target that's worth the money.

#2 was a great big brother and so very proud of his sisters shirt that he wanted one too. He even ran 1 lap on the field with her that day. She was excited to run and walk for 30 minutes along side her family and classmates.
